Job Description:
Job Duties: Lead research activities to expand R&D tool box.
Identify technology gaps in current tool box and explore new
approaches for raw material, intermediate or final product
characterization. Maintain and expand in-house testing capability;
establish connection with external testing resources. Validate and
implement new metrology to facilitate the fundamental understanding
of material property filter performance relationship and filtration
mechanisms. Produce reports and presentations on scientific
findings as needed. Lead and manage material characterization
activities to support new product development. Provide guidance and
consultation as a subject matter expert. Interact with
cross-functional teams and investigate problems related to filter
component properties and retention mechanisms. Perform or direct
material testing in house or at external labs to guide new product
development. Create standard practice and transfer corresponding
technique to enable a smooth and efficient material
characterization process. Education and Experience Requirements: Master's degree in
Material Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering
or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
OR Alternatively, a Doctorate's degree in Material Science, Polymer
Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field (willing
to accept foreign education equivalent). Experience: Three years of experience in job or in industrial
R&D research in life sciences industry with Master's degree. No
work experience required with a Doctorate's degree. Experience must include: Hands-on research in particle transport
phenomena in filtration media and deep understanding in media
tortuosity retention performance relationship; Material
characterization with advanced imaging characterization skills
(e.g. fluorescence imaging) for the investigation of media
filtration mechanisms; Scientific writing and presenting in both
academic and industrial environments. ** Experience may be gained through work experience,
