Job Description:
Leverages knowledge of Materials Science and Engineering and Ion
Beam technology in the development of technical marketing collateral for Ion Beam etching, deposition, and Ion Source
product lines. Trains sales force on new Ion Beam product lines,
upgrades, value-based selling, and competitive advantages. Coordinates
discussions with customers to define market requirements for
new systems or upgrades. Provides feedback to internal engineering
teams and management to define next-generation product configurations. Assists with pricing and Commercial Agreements
for service contracts, parts, upgrades, and systems. Assists in establishing product strategies by interfacing with customers
and internal R&D professionals, providing market information
and trends to orient their product development. Researches competitors’
products and processes (including levels of materials, design,
performance, cost, and reliability) to provide feedback to internal R&D,
enabling that group to design products surpassing competitors’
offerings. Works directly with customers’ technical teams to present product
capabilities, including software modeling of spectral performance
for interference filter designs, modeling the plasma distribution of
various ion source products, working with Engineering to
establish solutions, and taking technical data from Engineering and
creating customer-facing demonstrations and reports. Responsible
for technical, commercial (P&L), and management decisions
related to the company’s ion sources and IBS product lines.
Assists in the creation of Marketing Requirements Documents (MRD) and key
technical and commercial criteria needed to design high-tech
equipment that meets market needs. Drives product demos interfacing
customers with business unit Sales team and R&D team to support
sales forecast and drive to the revenue plan. Drives and contributes
to technical publications for Ion Source and Ion Beam
sputtering technology. Supports world-wide sales to ensure business unit
goals and objectives are met for profitability, growth, and
forecast commitments. Education & Experience Requirements: PhD degree in Materials
Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field (willing to accept
foreign education equivalent) and no experience. Or, alternatively, will
accept a Master's degree in Materials Science, Mechanical
Engineering (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of
experience working in the field of capital equipment marking, sales
or applications support; OR, a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent
foreign education) in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or
a closely related field, and 5 years working in the field of capital
equipment marking, sales or applications support. Experience must include 2 years each in the following skills:
(1) Supporting sales and marketing teams with technical information
in an applications engineering environment; (2) Working with product
marketing and sales force supporting product collateral
(including brochures, application notes, and customer-facing presentation
materials) to help drive sales and revenue; and, (3) Working in
a laboratory or applications environment driving customer process
and equipment demonstrations to support sales and revenue
