Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coder Abstractor.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and analyze medical record and encounter form documentation
to determine diagnoses and procedures
Assign diagnostic codes, procedural codes, and modifiers using
coding guidelines
Serve as a liaison between CBO and sites/departments and assist in
training new employees
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Health Record Technology or related
healthcare field
2-3 years of professional coding experience and obtain a certified
professional coder (CPC) credential within 18 months of
employment
OR
3-5 years of professional coding experience and have obtained a
certified professional coder (CPC) credential
