Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in the non-hazardous waste
management sector in the Northeast U.S., seeks a dedicated Front
Load Garbage Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. This role is
pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste and
recyclable materials from commercial and residential customers. As
the Front Load Garbage Truck Driver, you will operate modern,
well-maintained vehicles and work closely with dispatchers and
route managers to improve route efficiencies and decrease
operational costs. Operate a front load garbage truck to collect
garbage and recyclables from designated routes, adhering to all
operational and safety guidelines. Perform pre-and post-trip
inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in good
working order. Report any mechanical problems encountered with
vehicles and ensure necessary repairs are made. Utilize lifting
mechanisms to safely load and unload waste and recyclable
materials. Communicate professionally with customers and the
public, providing outstanding customer service. Work cooperatively
with team members and supervisors to optimize routes and reduce
service time. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations
pertaining to driver duty hours, vehicle operation, and waste
disposal. Proficiency in operating front load garbage trucks and
waste management systems. Strong understanding of DOT regulations
and safety standards. Excellent physical fitness and ability to
maneuver heavy equipment. Good communication and interpersonal
skills for interacting with customers and colleagues. Ability to
work early mornings and adapt to varying weather conditions.

Waste Operator Certification is a plus but not required.
