Job Description Job Description RiseWell Community Services is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Community Assistant to join our team at our Irving Berkowitz Residence located in Brentwood. In this role, the Counselor will assist the Community Rehabilitative with providing services to individuals who temporarily reside in the Service Planning Unit and CR-SRO residents in their pursuit of becoming active, valued members in the community. RiseWell’s Residential Services provide those in recovery from serious mental illness a safe, reliable home with on-site support. Our Residential team assists participants with an array of services aimed at supporting their recovery and improving their quality of life. Services include medication monitoring, skill-building development, symptom management, socialization, transportation training, connections to psychiatric and medical services, and more. QUALIFICATIONS: Personal or shared experience with mental Illness and/or substance abuse issues. Ability and desire to assist others in the mastery of independent living skills and the personal recovery process. Understanding of peer support and self-help philosophy. Clean, valid New York State Driver’s License. Fingerprinting, criminal record check, and approval from the NYS Office of Mental Health.
