Job Description:
Job Description Job Description T&M Associates is seeking a
highly motivated Civil/LA Designer to join our Land Development
team in the Mid-Atlantic region. The ideal candidate will bring
strong technical design experience paired with hands-on field
construction administration experience. This role will support a
wide range of land development and site/civil/LA improvement
projects—with a particular focus on public-sector work in
southeastern Pennsylvania, including publicly bid K–12 school
facilities—while also contributing to traditional site/civil/LA
design tasks. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement,
combining remote flexibility with in-office and field work.
Construction Administration Responsibilities – Core Focus • Serve
as a key liaison between field construction teams and office-based
site civil/LA design staff. • Coordinate closely with owners,
architects, MEPF engineers, construction managers and contractors
to support construction-phase activities for site improvements. •
Interact regularly with prime contractors, typically general and/or
site contractors, responsible for site work. • Review and manage
construction documentation including RFI responses, submittals,
shop drawings, and change order evaluations. • Attend recurring
construction meetings (typically bi-weekly) and conduct targeted
site visits to observe, document, and report on construction
progress. • Ensure construction activities align with design
intent, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Design
Responsibilities – Secondary Focus • Prepare and oversee site civil
and landscape architecture designs, including grading, stormwater
management, roadways, utilities, drainage, soil erosion, sediment
control, and site planning. • Provide project oversight and project
management support for multiple projects. • Prepare technical
reports, design findings, plans, specifications, cost estimates,
and other contract documents. • Conduct feasibility and due
diligence studies; assist in land use and zoning processes. •
Prepare exhibits and renderings for project presentations. • Assist
with obtaining construction and land use permits from state,
county, and local agencies. • Mentor junior staff, delegate tasks,
and provide guidance on technical design and project management
assignments. • Collaborate with owners, regulatory agencies,
architects, construction managers and contractors to ensure project
success. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or
a related field required. • 5 years of related design and
construction experience, with focus on both the design and
construction of site improvements including roadways, driveways,
parking lots, sidewalks, athletic fields, drainage infrastructure,
utility infrastructure, stormwater management facilities, and
landscaping improvements including familiarity with municipal, DEP
and DOT permitting. • Experience in construction administration or
construction-phase coordination for civil/site projects, ideally
within both the public and private sectors. • Proficiency in
AutoCAD with Civil 3D modeling experience a plus. • Strong
understanding of bid and construction processes and site civil
engineering bid and construction documentation including plans and
technical specifications. • Ability to work independently and
collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. •
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client
coordination. T&M Associates is committed to pay transparency
and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable
laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. T&M estimates
that the salary range for this position will fall between $91,000 -
$118,000 . The actual salary offered may vary within this range,
depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s
experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and
knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
